Climate Change and Healthy Climate Initiative

Life on earth is at stake due to the presence of excess greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide (C02) in the atmosphere. The amount of C02 reached 415 parts per million (ppm), that is, about 40% more C02 (or, 1 trillion tons of excess C02) added in the last 100 years - the last time C02 reached this level was 3 million years ago. We are already seeing the effects: frequent destructive hurricanes, melting of glaciers/arctic, droughts and heatwaves, rising sea levels, frequent coastal flooding, destruction of marine ecosystems, etc. If the increase in CO2 continues, 150 million people could be underwater due to sea-level rise by 2050. Asia would be the worst affected-particularly countries like China, Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. Large parts of Shanghai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Dhaka, Chittagong, Jakarta, and Hanoi could be wiped out from the globe. Without intervention, Climate Change has the potential to destroy our civilization! The mission of Healthy Climate Initiative is to restore climate, i.e., remove the excess carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and make the climate safe and healthy for future generations.
